Where e-waste comes from in East London

East London has a large vehicle assembly plant, an industrial development zone and a river port, and factories here retire production electronics, computers and electrical equipment. Provincial government offices in nearby Bhisho and the Buffalo City municipality are major sources of desktops and printers. A university campus, colleges, public hospitals and schools add more, and households in Beacon Bay, Gonubie and Mdantsane produce appliances and phones. Manufacturers, departments and schools are the typical clients.
